29/10/2017: Bottlenose dolphins and Atlantic grey seals

2hr survey. Start time 09:00
Weather conditions: Fair/overcast, sea state 4-5, wind direction N

The first sighting of this survey came half an hour in when a bottlenose dolphin was seen briefly foraging near the cardinal marker before it then disappeared. The next and final sighting of this survey came in the final half hour when a female Atlantic grey seal was seen bottling near the harbour wall.

2hr survey. Start time 11:00
Weather conditions: Overcast, sea state 4, wind direction NW

After 1 hour and 15mins into this survey a bottlenose dolphin was seen travelling north away from the harbour wall before it then moved NE towards the fish factory before then leaving the survey area. Whilst this dolphin was travelling around the bay a female Atlantic grey seal was also seen in front of the harbour wall.

2hr survey. Start time 13:00
Weather conditions: Overcast/sunny, sea state 2-4, wind direction W-SW

An hour into this survey two Atlantic grey seals, a mother and pup, were seen in front of the harbour wall nuzzling. This was the only sighting of this survey.

2hr survey. Start time 15:00
Weather conditions: Sunny/fair, sea state 3, wind direction N

45mins into this survey a female Atlantic grey seal was seen scanning around the harbour wall before disappearing amongst the waves. It reappeared then 45mins later when it was seen again scanning in front of the harbour wall.
