29/07/14: Bottlenose dolphins and Atlantic grey seals

One bottlenose dolphin

One bottlenose dolphin was encountered in the last fifteen minutes of the watch and was seen travelling South East.

Four bottlenose dolphins and one Atlantic grey seal

One bottlenose dolphin was spotted in the first fifteen minutes and was mingling at the surface. Another three bottlenose dolphins were then seen in the next fifteen minute interval. These dolphins then joined together to form a pod and were seen to be foraging. The four dolphins stayed for another half an hour and headed off in a North East direction. In the last half hour an Atlantic grey seal was spotted near the fish factory.

One Atlantic grey seal was seen in the first fifteen minutes, travelling towards the fish factory.

Three bottlenose dolphins

Two bottlenose dolphins were seen and are known to be Nick and her calf. Another dolphin was also spotted in the same interval and known to be dolphin 244. The three dolphins were seen for the rest of the survey and were staying around the reef and taking long dives to forage.
