Land Based Sightings
April 29, 2018
Weather conditions: Initially sunny turning overcast later in the day, sea state 2-3, wind direction variable.
Our Living Seas volunteers conducted surveys from 7am-7pm yesterday. Bottlenose dolphins were spotted throughout early morning foraging between the headland and the cardinal buoy. As the morning progressed, a group of dolphins approached the harbour wall, much to the delight of the general public. Bottlenose dolphins were also observed leaping and bow riding alongside our local RNLI lifeboat and helicopter, as they carried out training exercises within the bay.
