Weather conditions: Fair/sunny, sea state 1, wind direction S.
13 bottlenose dolphins and one Atlantic grey seals

There were dolphins present right from the beginning of this survey. A group of two were seen mingling at the surface near the harbour wall whilst another was seen travelling east towards the cardinal marker offshore. There was also a group of five including two juveniles seen travelling NE whilst leaping near the cardinal marker and then another single dolphin was spotted foraging well beyond the cardinal marker. Into the next fifteen minutes the group of five was seen leaping near the cardinal marker whilst a group of six, including a juvenile was seen travelling north whilst foraging well beyond the cardinal marker. The group of two were seen foraging near the harbour wall. Then in the next fifteen minutes the group of five and the group of six joined together and were seen leaping beside the cardinal marker. The two dolphins remained foraging next to the harbour wall. Then a juvenile joined these two in the next fifteen minutes and chased fish at the surface of the water near the harbour wall. The ten other dolphins were seen foraging near the cardinal buoy. The juvenile with the two near the harbour wall then re-joined the group at the cardinal marker leaving the two foraging near the harbour wall. The group of two were seen foraging offshore and a group of three including a juvenile were seen foraging beyond the cardinal marker and a group of four, including two juveniles, were seen leaping near the cardinal marker. Into the next fifteen minutes one dolphin was seen chasing fish near the surface of the water near the harbour wall. Whilst this was occurring a group of four including a juvenile were seen leaping near the fish factory and one individual was seen travelling west offshore beyond the fish factory. A group of three were also seen foraging near the cardinal marker and a group of four including a juvenile were seen mingling at the surface beyond the cardinal marker. The group of three near the cardinal marker including a juvenile mingling at the surface, whilst two were seen foraging beyond the cardinal marker. Another group of two were seen between the harbour wall and the cardinal marker foraging and a group of six including two juveniles were seen leaping between the fish factory and the cardinal marker. There was also a male Atlantic grey seal seen in the water near the harbour wall. In the final fifteen minutes of this survey the group of six was still seen and were travelling east towards the cardinal marker. Also a group of four including one juvenile were seen mingling at the surface near the cardinal buoy and a group of three were seen mingling at the surface beyond the cardinal buoy.

In the next fifteen minutes one of the group of three joined the group of four and the other two left the survey area and the group of five foraged near the cardinal marker. A male Atlantic grey seal was seen near the harbour wall. The group of five remained near the cardinal marker for the next 45 minutes in which time they mingled at the surface then split and one foraged on its own while the four others mingled then they joined together and mingled again. They then left the survey area. After they left a male grey seal was seen near the harbour wall and was seen there for half an hour before disappearing.
