28/10/2015: 20 bottlenose dolphins and 17 Atlantic grey seals

Five bottlenose dolphins and five Atlantic grey seals

Within the first couple of minutes of this survey a bottlenose dolphin was seen foraging 50m from the boat then a minute later four more dolphins including one juvenile were seen foraging 40m from the boat. 15 minutes later a female grey seal was seen in the water 20m from the boat. Within the next five minutes an adult and a calf grey seal were seen hauled out. Then half an hour later another female grey seal was seen in the water. Another half an hour after this another grey seal was seen in the water 10m from the boat.

Eight bottlenose dolphins and four Atlantic grey seals

Within the first minute of the survey a grey seal was seen in the water 20m from the boat. Then an hour later another grey seal was seen swimming 100m from the boat. Then 15 minutes later a group of eight bottlenose dolphins were seen foraging 300m from the boat. Within the following five minutes a grey seal was seen bottling. The final sighting was also of a grey seal in the water and came 15 minutes after the previous sighting.

Seven bottlenose dolphins and eight Atlantic grey seals

Within the first five minutes of this survey a bottlenose dolphin was seen 150m from the boat. Then ten minutes later an adult female grey seal was seen 50m from the boat. Then within the next five minutes two adult grey seals were seen with one in the water and a male hauled out. 15 minutes later another female grey seal was seen in the water 20m from the boat. Then 20 minutes later another grey seal was seen in the water and two minutes after this, another was seen. About five minutes later an adult and calf bottlenose dolphin was seen travelling NE 130m from the boat. Then twenty minutes later a lone bottlenose dolphin was seen 90m from the boat. Five minutes later a grey seal was seen in the water and after another five minutes another grey seal was spotted in the water. Then the final sighting was twenty minutes later when three bottlenose dolphins including a calf were seen leaping 30m from the boat.
