28/08/2014 – 14 bottlenose dolphins and seven Atlantic grey seals.

Two bottlenose dolphins.

A single bottlenose dolphin was seen foraging in New Quay bay at the beginning of the trip, and once again at the end of the survey in the bay.

Four Atlantic grey seals and six Bottlenose dolphins.

A single adult Atlantic grey seal was seen in the water just down the coast from Cwmtydu, with two more adults seen in the water a little further south. At Ynys Lochtyn a group of six bottlenose dolphins including two calves were seen displaying behaviours ranging from milling and foraging, to travelling south. An Atlantic grey seal was also seen in the Ynys Lochtyn bay.

Five bottlenose dolphins and three Atlantic grey seals.

An Atlantic grey seal was seen in the water off the coast between New Quay headland and Cwmtydu. Half way through the trip two bottlenose dolphins were seen foraging off Ynys Lochtyn headland. Two further animals were seen shortly afterwards slightly further north up the coast, and a fifth individual just after in the same area. Two more Atlantic grey seals were also then seen in the water around the coast from New Quay bay.

One bottlenose dolphin was seen foraging and tail slapping in New Quay bay near the cardinal buoy.
