28/08/11: Bottlenose dolphins and Atlantic grey seal

2hr survey: Start time 09:00
Weather conditions: overcast/dull, sea state 3, wind NW/W/SW

A pod of three bottlenose dolphins, including a calf, were seen foraging at depth offshore from the harbour wall for approximately 45 minutes. There was also a single dolphin foraging very close to the harbour wall, and one hour into the survey two dolphins were spotted travelling North away from the harbour wall.

Weather conditions: fair/sunny, sea state 1/2, wind NW/ W/SW/SSW/WSW

For the first 45 minutes of the survey, two adult bottlenose dolphins were spotted with a calf offshore from the harbour wall. They were seen to be foraging at depth. Later in the survey, two adult dolphins and a calf were again seen foraging by the harbour wall, and near the end of the survey three dolphins (including a calf) were spotted by the cardinal buoy.

Weather conditions: fair/ sunny, sea state 1/2, wind NW

At the beginning of the survey two bottlenose dolphins were seen taking long dives and travelling North from away the cardinal buoy. Near the end if the survey an Atlantic grey seal was seen by the harbour wall, then later one was also spotted between the fishery and the harbour wall.
