28/07/2017: Bottlenose dolphins and an Atlantic grey seal

One bottlenose dolphin was recorded foraging by the cardinal marker in the first 15 minutes, and was seen again half an hour later in the same place. Later in the survey another bottlenose dolphin was spotted foraging close to the fish factory.

Weather conditions: overcast/mist, sea state 2/3, wind direction SW

One female Atlantic grey seal was seen close to the harbour wall at the start of this survey. Later on, one bottlenose dolphin was seen foraging close to the fish factory and another by the cardinal marker. One barrel jellyfish was also spotted.

Weather conditions: overcast/rain, sea state 1, wind direction S/SW

The same two bottlenose dolphins from the last survey remained foraging in the same areas throughout this survey, with two gannets flying above them. Oystercatchers were also recorded.

Weather conditions: overcast/rain, sea state 2, wind direction W

The same two bottlenose dolphins continued to forage in the bay throughout this survey, until the survey had to be called off halfway through due to heavy rain.
