28/07/14: Bottlenose dolphins

Three bottlenose dolphins

In the second half of the survey a bottlenose dolphin was seen travelling East. A mother and calf bottlenose dolphin stayed in New Quay bay for 45 minutes surfacing regularly and thought to be foraging.

Three bottlenose dolphins

A mother and calf were seen for the first hour of the survey, diving for relatively long periods of time, presumably foraging at depth. An adult dolphin occasionally travelled with them, also assumed to be foraging.

One bottlenose dolphin

One bottlenose dolphin was observed for 1hr 45mins diving for long periods of time near the cardinal buoy, presumably foraging.

Three bottlenose dolphins

Bottlenose dolphins were seen in the first quarter of the survey. One stayed for a short time near the cardinal buoy, before a pair of adults were seen travelling North near the reef.
