Thirteen bottlenose dolphins
The seven bottlenose dolphins seen in the previous survey were observed leaping, engaging in sexual activity, and foraging between the headland and the cardinal marker throughout the first hour of the survey. Midway through the survey period, five of the bottlenose dolphins joined with a group of six others that had travelled down the coast towards the headland. The large group of eleven were observed engaging in a feeding frenzy, with lots of gannets, a variety of gulls, and a few guillemots seen foraging among them. Two dolphins were also observed travelling west away from the cardinal marker. In the second half of the survey period, three bottlenose dolphins were still observed in the bay, with the rest disappearing round the headland and out of view. The dolphins were observed throwing fish and foraging in front of the harbour wall and near the cardinal marker, before travelling west past the headland and out of the survey area. At the end of the survey, an Atlantic grey seal was observed swimming west past the harbour wall.
