28/04/14: 1 harbour porpoise, 5 bottlenose dolphins and 114 Atlantic grey seals
Several sightings of individual Atlantic grey seals however the bulk of the sightings (98 Atlantic grey seals) were seen at Cemaes Head where they were either hauled out (73 individuals) or in the water (25 individuals). There were 17 males observed in this group and a further 78 females. Seals continued to be sighted around Cardigan Island, where a further seven were seen in the water, six females and one male. Later in the survey five bottlenose dolphins were seen travelling west, before bow riding the boat, leaping and tail slapping while travelling slowly around us. The trip concluded with a further two sightings of Atlantic grey seals in the water, one of which was a severely injured male.
