Seven bottlenose dolphins and three Atlantic grey seals

At the start of the survey, one male Atlantic grey seal was seen briefly swimming in an easterly direction away from the fish factory before diving out of sight. Shortly after, a group of four bottlenose dolphins were seen at the far edge of the survey area, mingling at the surface and splashing about. These then travelled west past the headland, where two disappeared from sight. Over the next 15 minutes, two dolphins from this group remained in the area taking long dives and foraging at depth. Approximately half way through the survey, one of the group was seen travelling east with irregular surfacing. Shortly after, a group of two bottlenose dolphins, including a juvenile, were seen travelling making determined progress in an easterly direction. Around the same time, another lone bottlenose dolphin was seen travelling east from the fish factory, surfacing irregularly. Also during this period, an Atlantic grey seal was seen in the water near the fish factory. The mother and juvenile were witnessed throughout the rest of the survey, foraging and depth and at times splashing at the surface. About 30 minutes before the end of the survey a lone Atlantic grey seal was seen swimming between the fish factory and the cardinal marker.

No sightings were made until halfway through this survey where a group of three bottlenose dolphin, including one juvenile, were seen halfway between the fish factory and the cardinal marker travelling northwest. 30 minutes later, two bottlenose dolphin were seen travelling east with regular surfacing and making determined progress. Near the end of the survey, a single bottlenose dolphin was seen east of the fish factory travelling towards the cardinal marker taking long dives and surfacing irregularly.
