27/09/2014: Bottlenose dolphins and Atlantic grey seals

Six bottlenose dolphins

Bottlenose dolphins were seen for much of the survey, with animals foraging in the bay and near the fish factory. At times individuals came in close to the harbour wall, and jumps and lunges were seen.

Three Bottlenose dolphins

Half an hour into the survey a single bottlenose dolphin was spotted foraging near the fish factory. Two more dolphins joined it in the bay and the three traveled around the bay foraging and jumping for the remainder of the survey.

Bottlenose dolphins were present for most of the survey, with foraging behaviour shown across the bay. Near the end of the survey a single individual came in and began leaping close to the harbour wall. near the end of the survey an atlantic grey seal also entered the bay off Traeth gwyn.

Two bottlenose dolphins and one atlantic grey seal

At the beginning of the survey two bottlenose dolphins were foraging in the bay, they moved out the bay and the majority of the survey was fairly quiet until a single male atlantic grey seal was seen in the water off Traeth Dolau. The animal traveled northeast away from the beach.
