27/08/2014: Bottlenose dolphins and Atlantic grey seals

Weather conditions: Sunny. Sea state 2. Wind E-SE.
Nine bottlenose dolphins including two calves

Nine individuals including two calves were seen around the harbour towards the end of the survey. They travelled from the fish factory towards the cardinal buoy and spent some time foraging in the bay. They then traveled back towards the fish factory.

Weather conditions: Sunny. Sea state 3. Wind ESE.
Nine bottlenose dolphins including two calves

Bottlenose dolphins were seen throughout the whole of the survey. One group were mingling and tail slapping near the fish factory before moving towards the harbour wall and foraging there. The other group included a calf and foraged around the cardinal buoy for the whole of the survey.

One bottlenose dolphin

No dolphins were seen until the end of the survey when one was sighted near the cardinal buoy.

Weather conditions: Sunny/overcast. Sea state 3. Wind SSE.
One bottlenose dolphin and Atlantic one grey seal

One bottlenose dolphin was seen at the beginning of the survey foraging on the bay. A grey seal was also seen just off the harbour wall.

Weather conditions: Overcast/rain. Sea state 1. Wind SE.
Five bottlenose dolphins

Two bottlenose dolphins were seen travelling south east. They were then joined by three more, including one calf near the harbour wall. This group then travelled north west together. Dolphins were sighted again later in the survey just north of the harbour wall.

One bottlenose dolphin was sighted at the beginning of the survey east of the harbour wall.
