26/08/2017: Bottlenose dolphins and an Atlantic grey seal

The first sighting of the survey was an adult and juvenile bottlenose dolphin spotted foraging by long dives off New Quay headland. They were then joined by two more groups that were very active and displayed socialising behaviour. One Atlantic grey seal was briefly seen close to the harbour wall.

Two groups of bottlenose dolphins were spotted moving around the New Quay bay area. Towards the end of the survey, one of the groups was seen leaping far offshore whilst the other was foraging by long dives closer to New Quay headland. By the last 15 minutes the dolphins moved out of view.
