26/08/2014: Bottlenose Dolphins and Atlantic Grey Seals

Four bottlenose dolphins

Two bottlenose dolphins were seen foraging and milling at the surface in the bay before travelling to the harbour wall where they began foraging. A mother and calf were also seen foraging by the small pier in the harbour.

Three bottlenose dolphins and one Atlantic grey seal

At the start of the survey one bottlenose dolphin was seen foraging at the cardinal buoy. Then nothing was seen until the last half hour of the survey, when a male Atlantic grey seal was seen travelling west by the harbour wall, and two dolphins were seen travelling by the cardinal buoy.

Three Bottlenose dolphins

One bottlenose dolphins was seen foraging by the cardinal buoy, with a mother and calf later seen foraging off the harbour wall.

One bottlenose dolphin

One bottlenose dolphins was seen by the fish factory travelling east in the last half hour of the survey.

Four bottlenose dolphins

Halfway through the survey one bottlenose dolphins was seen foraging by the cardinal buoy. Two dolphins were then seen travelling east towards the cardinal buoy. Finally, one dolphin was seen foraging by the buoy during the last half hour of the survey.
