Eight bottlenose dolphins

A total of eight bottlenose dolphins were seen during the survey. Most dolphins were seen foraging around the harbour wall, along with a pod of five with one calf seen leaping by the cardinal buoy.

Weather conditions: fair/overcast and dull, sea state 2, wind w/sw
Nine bottlenose dolphins

A total of nine bottlenose dolphins were seen during the survey. Within first half an hour, four bottlenose dolphins were foraging and leaping. At 11:30, four bottlenose dolphins were seen travelling east. At 12:00, a pod of three adults and two calves’ bottlenose dolphins were seen by the cardinal buoy foraging. At 12:30, six bottlenose dolphins were seen leaping.

Weather conditions: sunny, sea state 2, wind S/SW
Ten bottlenose dolphins

At the beginning of the survey ten bottlenose dolphins were seen foraging by the harbour wall and cardinal buoy. By the end of the survey, sightings had declined, with just two bottlenose dolphins seen at the end of survey foraging just north of the harbour wall.

Five bottlenose dolphins, one Atlantic grey seal

At the start of the survey, four bottlenose dolphins and one calve were foraging north of the harbour wall. At 15:45, one Atlantic grey seal was seen just off the harbour wall. For the rest of the survey, bottlenose dolphins were seen foraging by the harbour wall and the cardinal buoy.
