25/07/12: Bottlenose dolphins and Atlantic grey seal

Two bottlenose dolphins and One Atlantic grey seal

One bottlenose dolphin was spotted near New Quay headland travelling east, and an individual dolphin was also seen foraging close to the cardinal buoy. The travelling bottlenose dolphin then joined the individual at the cardinal buoy and they continued to forage together. An Atlantic grey seal was spotted in the water near the harbour wall.

Five bottlenose dolphins

Two bottlenose dolphins were seen foraging near the fish factory and 1 bottlenose dolphin was seen close by travelling west. Two other bottlenose dolphins were also seen throughout the watch diving at depth and foraging close to the fish factory.

Four bottlenose dolphins

Two bottlenose dolphins were spotted by New Quay headland, travelling east rapidly and surfacing regularly. Two bottlenose dolphins were later seen foraging at depth close to the cardinal buoy.

Three bottlenose dolphins

A mother and calf were seen throughout the majority of the survey, foraging and travelling between the cardinal buoy and harbour wall. Towards the end of the session, they were joined by another bottlenose dolphin, foraging at the fish factory.

Three bottlenose dolphins

Two bottlenose dolphins were seen foraging at depth by the fish factory, another single bottlenose dolphin was spotted travelling south west of the cardinal buoy with regular surfacing.
