24/10/11: Bottlenose dolphins and Atlantic grey seals

2hr survey. Start time 09:00
Weather conditions: Rain, sea state 2-3, wind SE
Five bottlenose dolphins including one calf

Bottlenose dolphins were seen during the middle of the survey period. The dolphins were seen travelling across the survey area and foraging north of the harbour wall. Three adult dolphins were seen leaping, tail-slapping and lunging around the cardinal buoy. The mother-calf pair was seen travelling and foraging across the survey area.

Weather conditions: Rain/overcast/dull, sea state 2, wind S-SE
Six bottlenose dolphins including one calf and one Atlantic grey seal

One Atlantic grey seal was seen at start of survey period in the water in front of harbour wall. The dolphins were seen throughout the majority of survey period, travelling, foraging, leaping and tail slapping.

Weather conditions: Overcast/dull, sea state 2, wind SE
Three bottlenose dolphins including one calf

Bottlenose dolphins were seen for the majority of the survey period. The dolphins were seen travelling and foraging north of the harbour wall. Mother-calf pair and one other adult were seen  leaping tail slapping and lunging around the cardinal buoy.

Weather conditions: Overcast/dull, sea state 3, wind E
Seven bottlenose dolphins

The bottlenose dolphins were seen briefly, during the middle of the survey period. Four bottlenose dolphins travelled across survey area towards New Quay headland. Three bottlenose dolphins were seen foraging, leaping and tail-slapping off the fish factory.
