Towards the second hour of the survey both pairings joined together to splash and leap near the cardinal marker together. A female Atlantic grey seal popped up near the harbour wall, followed by another mother and calf pairing foraging near the wall! At the end of the survey there were 3 mother and calf pairings in New Quay bay!

Two bottlenose dolphins were seen foraging near the cardinal marker for the first half an hour of this survey, before one of the dolphins travelled west. The lone dolphin remained foraging for another half an hour. Jacky and Jay, a regular mother and calf pairing, popped up very close to the harbour wall to forage despite the low tide. They remained for half an hour before disappearing. In the second hour, no dolphins were spotted but one Atlantic grey seal was seen near the harbour wall.
