The only sighting of this survey was one group of bottlenose dolphins briefly near Cwmtydu, which were spotted so briefly a confirmed number could not be recorded.

Five bottlenose dolphins

The first sighting of this survey was two adult bottlenose dolphins offshore near Bird’s Rock. They were observed milling around the surface of the water. The other sighting during this survey was of two adults and a calf bottlenose dolphin offshore from New Quay bay. They were observed foraging and tail slapping.

Five bottlenose dolphins & five Atlantic grey seals

The first sighting of this survey was of a male Atlantic grey seal swimming and scanning in the water near Cwmtydu. The next sighting was of four Atlantic grey seals, three female and one male. These were all seen scanning in the water further along the coast from the previous sighting. The next sighting was of three bottlenose dolphins offshore near Cwmtydu. The final sighting was of a mother and calf bottlenose dolphin foraging near Bird’s Rock.
