24/08/11: Bottlenose dolphins and an Atlantic Grey Seal

Fourteen bottlenose dolphins and one Atlantic grey seal

During the first half of the survey several groups of dolphins were sighted off the harbour wall, firstly travelling south then later mingling and foraging. An Atlantic grey seal was also spotted in the water at the same time just off the harbour wall. Later on in the survey more groups of dolphins were seen mingling and foraging whilst travelling across the bay to the Cardinal Buoy.

Eight bottlenose dolphins

At the start of the survey a group of four bottlenose dolphins were sighted mingling at the surface, northeast of the harbour wall. Later on two more were seen foraging off the Cardinal Buoy, towards the end of the survey two were sighted off the end of the harbour wall foraging and travelling west.

Four bottlenose dolphins including one calf

During the first half of the survey two bottlenose dolphins including one calf were sighted northeast of the harbour wall foraging. They were then joined by another two dolphins with one seen just off the harbour wall.
