At the beginning of the survey there appeared to be four dolphins including one calf near the cardinal buoy, which were soon after joined by a further three bottlenose dolphins including one other calf. These seven dolphins then remained together for over an hour where they were thought to be foraging at depth. Later a mother and calf were seen leaving the area heading NW. The remaining five dolphins including a calf then stayed in the area for the remainder of the survey.
