23/08/12: 24 Bottlenose dolphins and 8 Atlantic grey seals

Ten bottlenose dolphins, three Atlantic grey seals

Our first sighting was two bottlenose dolphins foraging next to the harbour wall. We then spotted another bottlenose dolphin travelling west off the fish factory and two bottlenose dolphins foraging in this area.  Later a mother and calf appeared, they were thought to be foraging off the first bird colony. Three Atlantic grey seals were spotted in the water, one near the first bird colony and the other two near Cwm Tydu. Towards the end of the survey three dolphins including a calf were spotted foraging near the harbour wall.

One adult bottlenose dolphin was seen feeding off New Quay harbour. Two female Atlantic grey seals were spotted in the water near Trywn Crou.

Eight bottlenose dolphins, one Atlantic grey seal

Four bottlenose dolphins were seen foraging and leaping in New Quay bay. One Atlantic grey seal was spotted in the water off Ynys Lochtyn. Two adult bottlenose dolphins were observed foraging off Cwm Tydu, they approached the boat. Another pair of bottlenose dolphins was seen foraging near the fish factory.

The first sighting was one adult bottlenose dolphin foraging off New Quay headland. Then we spotted a pair of bottlenose dolphins foraging and tail slapping near Ynys Lochtyn. Later a second pair of dolphins was observed feeding and leaping in the area as well. Two female Atlantic grey seals were seen in water about 40 metres from the boat.
