21/09/11: Bottlenose dolphins

Five bottlenose dolphins including one calf

Bottlenose dolphins were seen throughout the survey. They were mostly seen foraging off shore from the harbour wall.

Weather conditions: Overcast/dull/fair/rain/sunny, sea state 2 to 3, wind SW
Three bottlenose dolphins

Bottlenose dolphins were only seen twice throughout the survey. They were seen foraging off from the harbour wall.

Weather conditions: Fair/overcast/dull, sea state 3, wind SW
Seven bottlenose dolphins including two calves

Bottlenose dolphins were seen for the majority of the survey. The individually sighted adults were observed foraging between the harbour wall and the cardinal buoy. The adults and calves were observed leaping and tail-slapping off shore from New Quay headland and later in front of the harbour wall.

Weather conditions: Fair/Overcast/dull, sea state 3, wind S veering SW
Seven bottlenose dolphins including two calves

Bottlenose dolphins were observed throughout the survey period. The majority of the dolphins were observed foraging between the harbour wall and cardinal with travelling occurring between the two. The group with the calves were seen leaping and tail-slapping. One juvenile was seen to be pushed through the water.
