21/07/11: 12 bottlenose dolphins and 1 Atlantic grey seals

Six bottlenose dolphins including two calves

The first sighting was three bottlenose dolphins including a calf, foraging just off the New Quay Headland. On the return trip the same animals were still happily foraging around the New Quay Harbour.

Four bottlenose dolphins

Two adult bottlenose dolphins were spotted feeding off New Quay Harbour. At 13.00 two other bottlenose dolphins, one of which was a calf, were sighted foraging within the Harbour.

Two bottlenose dolphins

The only sighting of the trip was of two adult bottlenose dolphins foraging and travelling in an eastern direction, just off New Quay Harbour.
As all the sightings across the three surveys were seen within the New Quay area, it suggests there was a lot of activity within the local environment.

One Atlantic grey seal

The only sighting of the trip was a pregnant Atlantic grey seal, spotted hauled out of the water just off Ynys Lochtyn, was also noted that she was pregnant.
