20/06/12: 20 bottlenose dolphins and 8 Atlantic grey seals

Eleven bottlenose dolphins and three Atlantic grey seals

The first sighting on the survey occurred off the harbour wall of New Quay and was of two adult bottlenose dolphins which were seen foraging. The second sighting occurred just north of the Fish factory in New Quay bay area, where there were two bottlenose dolphins, one adult and one juvenile observed foraging. The next sighting involved two adults and one juvenile bottlenose dolphin at Ynys Lochtyn. Shortly afterwards another bottlenose dolphin was sighted then an adult and a juvenile was sighted. In the cliffs just past Ynys Lochtyn a lone female Atlantic grey seal was sighted in the water. Then at Cwmtydu two sightings of female Atlantic grey seals were sighted both hauled out. Another bottlenose dolphin was sighted by Bird's Rock.

Nine bottlenose dolphins and five Atlantic grey seals

One bottlenose dolphin was sighted in New Quay bay. Another bottlenose dolphin sighting occurred at Ynys Lochtyn consisting of an adult and juvenile. Three Atlantic grey seals were sighted near Ynys Lochtyn consisting of two adult females and an adult male all in the water. Another adult was sighted shortly afterwards in the water. Near Cwmtydu another adult female seal was sighted hauled out. Near the end of the survey at Bird's Rock six bottlenose dolphins were sighted.
