Forty-nine bottlenose dolphins, eleven Atlantic grey seals and two harbour porpoises
Within the first fifteen minutes of the survey, a group of seven bottlenose dolphins, including a calf, were observed foraging at the surface with fish seen, and some tail slapping witnessed. About fifteen minutes later, two Atlantic grey seals were seen in the water and a group of eight bottlenose dolphins, including a calf and a new-born, were observed throwing fish and joining up with the previously seen group of seven. Shortly after, two lone Atlantic grey seals were seen in the water. About forty minutes later, a lone bottlenose dolphin was observed travelling east and twenty minutes after that a group of four bottlenose dolphins were observed tail slapping. At midday, a lone bottlenose dolphin was seen, shortly followed by four bottlenose dolphins travelling north-east. Twenty minutes later a lone Atlantic grey seal was seen in the water and half an hour after, another lone Atlantic grey seal was seen in the water. Shortly after 1pm, a group of four bottlenose dolphins were observed tail slapping and travelling north. Half an hour later, a group of eight bottlenose dolphins were observed leaping and travelling north, shortly followed by a sighting of a lone female Atlantic grey seal swimming south-west, a pair of bottlenose dolphins travelling south and a female and a male Atlantic grey seal in the water. Soon after, a pair of harbour porpoises was seen travelling west. Towards the end of the survey, two hauled out Atlantic grey seals, one a female and the other a pup, were seen. A group of seven bottlenose dolphins were observed travelling west and a group of three bottlenose dolphins were observed travelling north.
