At the start of this survey a bottlenose dolphin was seen foraging near the cardinal marker. This then remained foraging here for a further hour. This was then joined by another dolphin and these moved close to the harbour wall and started leaping before then travelling away towards the fish factory whilst foraging. One of these dolphins then left the survey area and the other travelled towards the cardinal marker whilst foraging.
2hr survey. Start time 9:00
Weather conditions: sunny, sea state 1, wind direction SE
The bottlenose dolphin from the previous survey was seen foraging near the cardinal marker. This dolphin then started milling around before moving out of the survey area. Half an hour later another dolphin was seen travelling west towards the fish factory from the cardinal marker. This dolphin was then joined by three other individuals, including a calf, at the fish factory where they started leaping. These then remained leaping across the bay for 45 minutes. Whilst these dolphins were doing this another adult bottlenose dolphin was seen foraging at the fish factory and this remained there for the remainder of the survey. The group of four dolphins were joined by another two adults within the last half hour of the survey and these two individuals remained in the survey area in the last 15 minutes when the original four had disappeared. These two individuals where seen travelling towards the fish factory from the cardinal marker. An Atlantic grey seal was also seen within the bay within the final 15 mins of this survey.

Weather conditions: sunny, sea state 1, wind direction S-SW
The bottlenose dolphin that was seen foraging at the cardinal marker in the previous survey was again seen at the beginning of this one, where it was still foraging, but then disappeared from the survey area within the first 15 mins of this survey. This dolphin was also joined by a mother and calf pair at the start of this survey and these foraged at the cardinal marker for the full 2 hours of this survey. Half an hour into the survey another dolphin was seen foraging with this pair near the cardinal marker and this remained here for 30 mins before then being joined by another individual for 15 mins before both dolphins left the survey area. Within the final 30 mins of this survey two new bottlenose dolphins were seen foraging near the cardinal marker before one left and the other remained foraging until the end of the survey.

Weather conditions: sunny/fair, sea state 1-2, wind direction W-SW
The mother and calf pair of dolphins that were foraging for the whole of the last survey was again seen foraging at the start of this one. These were joined by another adult and then they both started travelling out to sea. These dolphins then travelled back towards New Quay were they were seen leaping in the middle of the bay. An individual then left the survey area leaving the mother and calf pair was seen travelling rapidly towards the harbour wall. These then travelled back and forth in front of the harbour wall for the next 30 mins before they then started foraging in front of the harbour wall before finally disappearing from the survey area. Within the last half hour of the survey this mother and calf pair were joined within the survey area by another mother and calf pair whish were seen leaping near the cardinal marker and then again leaping offshore in the final 15 mins of the survey. A single bottlenose dolphin was also seen in the final 15 mins of this survey travelling offshore towards the fish factory.

At the beginning of this survey the mother and calf pair that were seen at the end of the previous survey were again seen leaping near the fish factory, before finally leaving the survey area. No more sightings were then made for the remainder of this survey.

Weather conditions: fair/sunny, sea state 2-3, wind direction SW-S
Half an hour into this survey a female Atlantic grey seal was seen swimming west across the harbour wall. This was the first and final sighting of this survey period.
