19/07/2016: 20 Bottlenose Dolphins, 9 Atlantic Grey Seals

Three Atlantic Grey Seals, Eight bottlenose dolphins

Bottlenose dolphins were spotted at the start of the trip, they were seen in the bay. They were seen foraging and leaping here. There were 3 individuals, there were 2 adults and 1 juveniles. Then another bottlenose dolphin was seen foraging as the boat headed around the headland. Another group of bottlenose dolphins were seen foraging by Ynys Lochtyn. Seals were seen as the boat headed back towards New Quay around seal bay. There were 3 seals seen. There was a female and a male, the female was hauled out on the rock, and the male was seen in the water. The third seal was seen swimming near birds rock.

Two Atlantic Grey Seals, 6 Bottlenose dolphins

Dolphins were seen from the start of the survey, they were milling in the water. One was an adult and one was a juvenile. Another individual was seen milling near Ynys Loctyn, it then came up to the boat. Seals were seen in seal bay, the same female from the previous survey was in the same place hauled out on a rock. There was also another in the water. As the boat returned back towards New Quay, another two dolphins, an adult and a calf were seen tail slapping near Cwmtydu.

4 Atlantic Grey Seals, 6 Bottlenose dolphins

Two Atlantic Grey Seals were seen at the start of the survey in the water. They were both female. Then two more seals were sighted near Cwmtydu in the water. Dolphins were then sighted milling in the water by Ynys Lochtyn. There were two adults and one calf. Then 3 more adults were sighted in the same area.
