19/07/2014: Bottlenose Dolphins, Atlantic Grey Seals and Harbour Porpoises

Weather conditions: Sea state 0-1, visibility 1-10km, light swell
Eleven Bottlenose Dolphins, two Atlantic Grey Seals and three Harbour Porpoises

At the start of the survey five bottlenose dolphins (including and mother and juvenile) were seen by the fish factory, foraging, leaping and travelling North-East. By Birds Rock another mother and juvenile were seen foraging and quickly travelling east. An Atlantic Grey Seal was seen swimming close the shore past Cwmtydu.  A further four dolphins were seen at Ynys Lochtyn, (including a mother and calf), where they were foraging. Offshore, two Harbour Porpoises (a mother and calf) were seen travelling North East between Ynys Lochtyn and Cwmtydu. A female Atlantic Grey Seal was also seen swimming offshore, and another Harbour Porpoise was seen travelling east near Coybal at the end of the survey.

One Atlantic Grey Seal and one Harbour Porpoise

A Harbour Porpoise was seen travelling offshore between Cwmtydu and Ynys Lochtyn.  An Atlantic Grey Seal was also seen in the water near Birds Rock.
