Two bottlenose dolphins

There were two separate bottlenose dolphins foraging and occasionally leaping in front of the harbour wall and towards the fish factory. Gannets were diving above the dolphins and a jellyfish was also seen.

Two bottlenose dolphins

Two individual bottlenose dolphins were observed foraging in the area between the Cardinal buoy and the end of the harbour wall.

Three bottlenose dolphins, including one calf

A mother and calf and a single dolphin were seen foraging throughout the survey both close to the harbour wall and further out towards the Cardinal buoy. At some points, all animals joined together to form one group. The single dolphin was also seen travelling.

Seven bottlenose dolphins

In total seven bottlenose dolphins were seen during the survey. This included an animal foraging and travelling alone and a mother and calf foraging. Later in the survey, the mother and calf were joined by four other dolphins and the group was seen leaping and lunging initially over near the Cardinal buoy but gradually getting closer to the harbour wall and at one point the dolphins were seen playing in the harbour.
