17/04/11 – 1 bottlenose dolphin and Atlantic grey seals

Weather conditions: sea state 0-1, 1-10km, swell light

The first sighting was at 12:25 of a male Atlantic grey seal swimming near Castell Bach, and another Atlantic grey seal was sighted swimming in the same area at 12:27. A third sighting of an Atlantic grey seal swimming further down the coast at Trwyn Crou was seen at 12:37. At 12:48 another male Atlantic grey seal was seen swimming just off Ynys-Lochtyn. A fifth Atlantic grey seal was seen swimming whilst heading back towards Trwyn Crou at 13:02 and then at 13:05 there was a sixth sighting of two Atlantic grey seals, one male and one female, swimming offshore from Trwyn Crou. At 13:39 there was a sighting of two male Atlantic grey seals swimming just offshore from New Quay headland. The eighth and final sighting of the day came at 13:48 when one adult bottlenose dolphin was seen foraging offshore from New Quay headland, near the fish factory.
