16/10/2014- Bottlenose dolphins and Atlantic grey seals

2hr survey. Start time  09:00
Weather conditions: sunny/fair, sea state 1-2, wind S/SE
Eleven bottlenose dolphins

Four dolphins were seen foraging near the cardinal buoy, including a mother and calf, at the beginning of the survey. These animals were then not spotted for 15 minutes. Another four dolphins were then spotted near the cardinal buoy, possibly the same animals as before. These dolphins remained around the harbour, foraging and travelling around for the remainder of the survey.

Three bottlenose dolphins

At the start of the survey three dolphins were seen in the bay, including a mother and calf travelling NW. After half an hour into the survey, no further dolphins were spotted.

Weather conditions: overcast/rain & showers/sunny, sea sate 1-2, wind SE/S
Three bottlenose dolphins and two Atlantic grey seals

No animals were spotted in the first half an hour of the survey, however half an hour in, a seal and a dolphins were spotted. Two more dolphins appeared shortly after, all appearing to be foraging. The dolphins moved around the bay for the remainder of the survey, presumably looking for fish, and another seal was spotted in the water near the fish factory.

Eight bottlenose dolphins

One dolphin was seen for the first half an hour of the survey, foraging near the cardinal buoy. Another dolphin was then spotted foraging near the fish factory. These dolphins were then joined by two groups of two dolphins which also appeared to be foraging near the fish factory. Near the end of the survey, one of the dolphins was seen to be leaping and tail slapping near the cardinal buoy.
