16/10/11: Bottlenose dolphins and Atlantic grey seals

Eight bottlenose dolphins

A large group of seven bottlenose dolphins, including a calf, were seen in the middle and at the end of the survey travelling and foraging near the cardinal buoy.  A single dolphin was also sighted foraging north of the harbour wall towards the end of the survey.

15 bottlenose dolphins and one Atlantic grey seal

Bottlenose dolphins were seen at the beginning and end of the survey.  The dolphins sighted were observed to be travelling, leaping and foraging in the area between the fish factory and cardinal buoy.  A female Atlantic grey seal was also sighted north of the harbour wall, in the water.

Four bottlenose dolphins

The bottlenose dolphins were only seen in the first 15 minutes of the survey.  They were observed to be foraging near the cardinal buoy.

One Atlantic grey seal

One Atlantic grey seal was sighted throughout the second half of the survey, in the water north of the harbour wall.
