16/09/12: Bottlenose dolphins, Atlantic grey seals and harbour porpoises

Seven bottlenose dolphins including one calf

Throughout the whole survey several groups of dolphins were seen staying or thought to be foraging around the cardinal buoy and the harbour wall.

Two bottlenose dolphins

The dolphins were first seen at the harbour wall and travelled to the cardinal buoy where they were thought to be foraging. Towards the end of the survey they were seen travelling towards the fish factory.

Three bottlenose dolphins and one Atlantic grey seals

Two Bottlenose dolphins were seen at the start of the survey near the Fish factory and weren’t seen again. One male Atlantic grey seal was seen near the harbour wall.

Three Harbour porpoises including one calf and one Atlantic grey seal

Near the beginning of the survey two harbour porpoises were seen near the fish factory then they weren’t seen again till the end of the survey where they were joined by a third porpoise near the harbour wall, they were travelling rapidly. The male grey seal was seen towards the fish factory.
