15/09/11: Bottlenose dolphins and Atlantic grey seals

2hr survey. Start time 09:00
Weather conditions: Fair, sea state 1-2, wind no wind becoming S later
Four bottlenose dolphins and one Atlantic grey seal

Dolphins were seen throughout the survey. They were mostly seen foraging between the harbour wall and fish factory however later in the survey groups were seen travelling east. One Atlantic grey seal was sighted in the first half of the survey north of the fish factory.

Weather conditions: Sunny/Fair, sea state 2, wind SE
Six bottlenose dolphins including two calves

Dolphins were sighted until 12:30, typically in groups of 4-6 with two calves present. They were seen foraging for the majority of the survey around the cardinal buoy, but were later seen travelling west as a group.

Weather conditions: Sunny/Fair, sea state 1, wind S
Six bottlenose dolphins

Dolphins were sighted in the last half hour of the survey. One bottlenose dolphin was first sighted foraging near the fish factory but was then observed travelling east offshore. Later a larger group were sighted offshore north of the fish factory mingling at the surface.

Weather conditions: Fair/overcast/dull, sea state 1, wind SW becoming SE later
Seven bottlenose dolphins

Dolphins were observed throughout the survey. They were mostly seen foraging although some leaps and tail slaps were recorded. Most sightings occurred north of the harbour wall and around the cardinal buoy.
