14/08/11: 12 Bottlenose dolphins

The first two bottlenose dolphins were seen shortly into the survey around New Quay headland. On the way back into the harbour two more dolphins were spotted. The dolphins were seen to be foraging most of the time.

Three adult bottlenose dolphins were seen close to the cardinal buoy foraging and travelling in a variety of directions. Towards the end of the survey another bottlenose dolphin was spotted foraging further out in the bay.

Just outside New Quay bay two mothers and two calves were seen, thought to be foraging and one was even leaping.
