13/10/11: Bottlenose dolphins and Atlantic grey seals

Seven bottlenose dolphins

The bottlenose dolphins were sighted throughout the whole survey foraging and travelling between the fish factory and cardinal buoy, some leaping behaviour was also seen towards the end of the survey.

Six bottlenose dolphins

In the first half of the survey, bottlenose dolphins were seen mainly travelling  around the area north of the harbour wall and foraging at the cardinal buoy.  Later on in the survey, a larger group of four bottlenose dolphins, including a calf, were seen foraging between the harbour wall and cardinal buoy.

Six bottlenose dolphins and one Atlantic grey seal

The bottlenose dolphins were seen throughout the majority of the survey.  These dolphins were seen mainly travelling, leaping and foraging in the region north of the harbour wall, between the fish factory and cardinal buoy.  A female Atlantic grey seal was also seen early in the survey, close to the harbour wall.

Weather conditions: Fair/sunny, sea state 1-2, wind SW, S
Five bottlenose dolphins and one Atlantic grey seal

Bottlenose dolphins were seen in the first half of the survey leaping, foraging and travelling near the cardinal buoy.  A bottlenose dolphin was also sighted at the end of the survey, travelling west, along with an Atlantic grey seal swimming in the water north of the harbour wall.
