Two bottlenose dolphins
Towards the end of the survey period, two bottlenose dolphins were spotted near the cardinal buoy, taking long dives, which suggests foraging at depth. They stayed in the area for approximately 45 minutes.

Five bottlenose dolphins
Dolphins were spotted throughout the survey period. Two individuals, including one calf, were spotted at the cardinal marker, travelling west towards the fish factory. A further individual was seen travelling from the fish factory into the bay. A final group of two bottlenose dolphins, including one calf, travelled around New Quay headland into the bay. They spent the remainder of the survey period foraging at depth.

Weather conditions: sunny/fair, sea state 2, wind direction SE
Three bottlenose dolphins
At the start of the survey period, a group of three bottlenose dolphins was spotted. They were seen offshore from the fish factory, undertaking long dives, thought to be searching for prey while on the move. They remained in the vicinity for 45 minutes. There were no sightings in the second half of the survey.
