7 bottlenose dolphins, 1 Atlantic grey seal

Bottlenose dolphins were in close to the boats within New Quay harbour during this trip, with the first dolphin being seen foraging just out from the small pier. Further sightings were near to the Cardinal Buoy, where there were two dolphins leaping, and an Atlantic grey seal in the water near to the reef.

The first sighting on this trip was at the end of the harbour wall where there was a dolphin leaping. The seal, as seen on the first boat trip of the day, was spotted again in a similar area in the water eating a fish. Two dolphins were seen foraging slightly further out within the harbour area and a further three adults and one calf were seen travelling North; away from New Quay harbour.

Dolphins were spotted in the harbour throughout the trip; some remained in close distance to the various visitor passenger boats, leaping and foraging just a few metres either side. The grey seals seen during this trip were, in the water, close to the rocks between Target Rock and the large bird colony.
