11/07/2013: Bottlenose Dolphins and Atlantic Grey Seal

2hr survey, Start time: 09:00
Weather conditions: Sunny; sea state 1; wind SE/N/SE/NE.
Four Bottlenose Dolphins.

Dolphins were seen throughout the second half of the survey. Three dolphins stayed in the same area between the harbour wall and the fish factory and a fourth was seen travelling south of the Cardinal Buoy. The fourth dolphin was lost sight of shortly afterwards but the original three remained within the same area for the rest of the survey.

Weather conditions: Sunny; sea state 2-3; wind NE.
Five Bottlenose Dolphins.

Dolphins were seen during the first half of the survey all sighted between the harbour wall and the fish factory. The dolphins were seen to stay within the same area for much of the survey only moving further north, offshore from the fish factory. One calf was also sighted during the survey.

Weather conditions: Sunny; sea state 2; wind E/SE/SW.
One Atlantic Grey Seal.

There were no dolphin sightings during this survey. A female Atlantic Grey Seal was spotted almost half way through the survey right up close to the harbour wall but disappeared just as quickly as she appeared.

Weather conditions: Sunny; sea state 2; wind NE.
Seven Bottlenose Dolphins.

Six dolphins and one calf were seen for the majority of the survey all north of the harbour wall, offshore from the fish factory. By the end of the survey four dolphins remained in the area with the rest having travelled northwest out of the survey range.
