18/08/2016: Twelve bottlenose dolphins, one grey seal.

Six bottlenose dolphins

At the beginning of the survey, a group of three bottlenose dolphins were seen thirty metres away from the boat made up of two adults and a juvenile and they were displaying foraging behaviour and traveling in a SE direction. Towards the end of the survey, another group of three bottlenose dolphins (two adults and a juvenile) were seen twenty metres from the boat displaying foraging behaviour and also moved away from the boat and were leaping and tail slapping.

Four bottlenose dolphins

A group of two adult bottlenose dolphins were seen 90 metres from the boat at the beginning of the survey, displaying foraging behaviour and also tail slapping. Half way through the survey, another group of two adult bottlenose dolphins were seen 60 metres from the boat and were also tail slapping and diving for long periods of time.

Two bottlenose dolphins, one Atlantic grey seal

Half way into the survey, a group of two adult bottlenose dolphins were seen leaping 1800 metres from the boat. Twenty minutes after, one male, adult Atlantic grey seal was seen hauled out on the rocks.
