10/10/11: Bottlenose dolphins and Atlantic grey seals

Four bottlenose dolphins including one calf

Bottlenose dolphins were seen for the majority of the survey period. The dolphins were seen travelling towards the harbour wall and then foraging north of the harbour wall and around the cardinal buoy. The mother-calf pair was seen foraging in front of the harbour wall for most of the survey.

Four bottlenose dolphins including one calf

Bottlenose dolphins were present for the majority of the survey period. The dolphins, including one mother-calf pair, were observed foraging, leaping and tail-slapping north of the harbour wall. Towards the end of the survey, the dolphins were seen travelling away from the harbour wall and out of the survey area.

Four bottlenose dolphins, including one calf and one Atlantic grey seal

Four bottlenose dolphins including one mother-calf pair were observed during the second half of the survey period. The dolphins were seen leaping, tail-slapping and lunging north of the harbour wall. One Atlantic grey seal was seen in the water at the end of the harbour wall towards the end of the survey.
