10/05/15 Five Bottlenose Dolphins, Two Harbour Porpoise and Two Grey Seals

2hr survey. Start time 09:00
Weather conditions: overcast/rainy, sea state 1, wind direction SW
4 bottlenose dolphins

Four bottlenose dolphins were spotted around half way through the survey. The animals came in two distinct groups to begin with, but seemed to switch groups or become one small pod throughout the sighting. They were seen doing a variety of behaviours, travelling through the harbour, milling at the surface and doing deeper dives were all seen, and then later in the survey a lot of energetic behaviours occurred where the dolphins were seen tail slapping, leaping and deep diving.

Not long after the dolphin left the harbour two harbour porpoises were seen travelling west together towards the fish factory. They too were only seen during one period of the survey before disappearing.
