09/10/11: Bottlenose dolphins and Atlantic grey seals

2hr survey, start time 09:00
Weather conditions: Overcast/dull, sea state 2, wind SW
Seven bottlenose dolphins including one calf

Bottlenose dolphins were seen throughout the survey. A mother and calf were the first spotted near the cardinal buoy foraging, followed by another travelling from the fish factory. A further two dolphins were spotted off of the harbour wall foraging, moving to the cardinal buoy later in the survey. In the last half of the survey a further two animals were seen off of the buoy foraging. The behaviour of all the dolphins changed at the end of the survey with a switch to socialising with leaping and tail slapping.
