09/09/11: Bottlenose dolphins and Atlantic grey seal

Weather conditions: Overcast/dull, sea state 2, wind SW
13 bottlenose dolphins

Bottlenose dolphins were seen throughout the survey with numbers varying from two through to eight. The dolphins were mostly seen foraging with occasional leaps. The majority of sightings were in the area of the cardinal buoy with a few by the harbour wall.

Weather conditions: Overcast/dull/rain/fair, sea state 1-2, wind S becoming SSE later
Eight bottlenose dolphins including two calves

Bottlenose dolphins were seen throughout the survey between the cardinal buoy and fish factory. The dolphins were seen foraging and carrying out aerial behaviours. Two mother-calf pairs were sighted foraging in the area.

Weather conditions: Overcast dull, sea state 1-2, wind SW
Five bottlenose dolphins including one calf and one Atlantic grey seal

Two bottlenose dolphins were seen at the start of the survey travelling west. The Atlantic grey seal was also spotted by the harbour wall at towards the start of the survey. Four bottlenose dolphins including one calf were observed travelling east towards the cardinal buoy at the end of the survey.

Five bottlenose dolphins including one calf

Bottlenose dolphins were seen for the majority of the survey either at the fish factory or cardinal buoy. The dolphins were either seen foraging or travelling and a mother-calf pair was present.
