09/06/14- Bottlenose dolphins and Atlantic Grey Seals

A small group of Bottlenose dolphins, including a mother and calf were seen milling around the cardinal buoy over the 2 hour period. During this time a lone dolphin was seen in an around the same area.

Weather conditions: Overcast/Dull, Fair, Sunny, Sea State 1, Wind N/NE

A dispersed group of five dolphins was spotted again around the cardinal buoy, including a mother and calf. One of the dolphins moved away from the group and traveled towards the fish factory. The mother and calf traveled further into the bay close to the harbour. An Atlantic Grey Seal was also seen near the harbour wall.

Weather conditions: Sunny/ Fair, Sea State 2, Wind N/NW/WSW

Three bottlenose dolphins were spotted near the fish factory and including the mother and calf. They were travelling to and from the harbour wall, thought to be foraging.  An Atlantic Grey Seal was also seen near the fish factory.

Six bottlenose dolphins, including two mothers and two calves were seen foraging between Birds Rock and the Bay. One of the mothers took her calf very close to beach. One female Atlantic Grey Seal was spotted in the area of the fish factory.
