15 bottlenose dolphins, 16 harbour porpoise and 14 Atlantic grey seals
The first sighting was as soon as the trip left the harbour. Six adult bottlenose dolphins and one juvenile were seen foraging and leaping in New Quay bay. Another one bottlenose dolphin was seen foraging off of New Quay headland. Near Birds Rock one Atlantic grey seal was seen in the water and a further one Atlantic grey seal was seen as the boat headed offshore in a westerly direction. On this offshore leg there were a number of sightings including two harbour porpoise travelling south, one Atlantic grey seal in the water and two bottlenose dolphins including a calf were seen foraging and travelling north offshore of Ynys Lochtyn. Still on the offshore leg one Atlantic grey seal was seen bottling. Two groups of harbour porpoise one of four individuals and the other of two adults were travelling the first south and the second north east offshore of Llangrannog. Another group of five harbour porpoise were seen travelling north east of Aberporth headland. A forth sighting of three harbour porpoise were seen foraging offshore of Mwnt. As the boat started to come inshore two female Atlantic grey seals were seen in the water. Two male Atlantic grey seals were seen in the water between Cardigan Island and the mainland. Another male Atlantic grey seal was seen in the water in the same area. Near Mwnt four bottlenose dolphins were seen leaping. Between Mwnt and Aberporth head two bottlenose dolphins, a mother and calf were bow riding the boat. On the way back up the coast towards New Quay five Atlantic grey seals were seen in four separate sighting either in the water or hauled out.
