9 bottlenose dolphins

A group of seven bottlenose dolphins were seen at the beginning of the survey foraging and travelling south. The size of the group then fluctuated, between seven to nine dolphins for the majority of the survey as then foraged and travelling within the bay. At 10.30 the group dropped to three dolphins foraging at the cardinal buoy, but soon another group of two appeared just off the fish factory.

3 bottlenose dolphins

At the beginning of the survey one adult and a calf were seen by the fish factory, and one dolphin was seen foraging by the cardinal buoy. These dolphins remained here for forty five minutes before the adult and calf began travelling east. At 12.30 only one dolphin remained in sight, foraging north of the harbour wall.

Weather conditions: fair/sunny, sea state 1-2, wind SW/W/NW
5 bottlenose dolphins

The survey began with one bottlenose dolphin foraging northeast of the harbour wall. The dolphin was then joined by another, foraging just off the fish factory. At 13.45 we lost sight of the dolphins and they were not seen again until they end of the survey, where three dolphins were seen again foraging north of the harbour wall by the fish factory.

5 bottlenose dolphins

Dolphins were seen throughout the survey, mainly focused around the cardinal buoy where a group of five, with one calf were sighted foraging, travelling and mingling.
